Factoids: Oscar Nelson (who ran the Lone Star Saloon and Restaurant with his brother John as far back as 1892) built a two-story building in 1901 to house his saloon 'The Opera' with a bowling alley.
In June 1902, Oscar Nelson built a 17x25 one-story brick addition so the bowling alley could be moved to the back and provide more room for the bar.
The alleys were at the corner of Alger and Main streets, per a Enterprise advertisement and the 1903 Sanborn map.
Art L Luce took over the bowling alleys from Charles P Story in January 1903.
Several matches took place here between Billings men and Sheridan men and there is one reference to the Sheridan bowlers taking on the miners at the new bowling alley in Dietz (likely Mining Camp 1).
By October 1904, A. L. Luce had moved his alleys to the basement of the Post Building and added a third alley.
